Medina, Saudi Arabia is one of the beloved cities to Prophet Mohammed ﷺ that comprises three essential mosques namely Masjid al-Quba (the first mosque constructed by the companions of Prophet Mohammed ﷺ ), Masjid al-Qiblatayn (mosque that is associated with the history of conversion of the direction of Namaaz to Ka’bah), and Masjid al-Nabawi.
Masjid al-Nabawi was constructed by Prophet Mohammed ﷺ and is considered as the third Masjid as per the Islamic history. Masjid al-Nabawi is termed to be the second essential palace in Islam after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. In the recent era, this mosque is ranked as the top-most largest mosques of Muslims. The construction of the same begun in 622 CE when Rasul Allah ﷺ migrated to Medina after the continuous torture of the people of Mecca. He commenced the construction of this mosque which used to serve as the court, religious school, and community centre. It also served as one of the largest platforms for the learners and teachers of Quran. Gradually, the place was expanded and designed by the famous rulers of Medina. As per the ancient records, Masjid al-Nabawi was the first spot that accessed electricity in the entire Arab nation in 1909.
